Settled in 1712, Middleburgh, New York, is a town full of surprising history and breathtaking nature views. From its specialty shops and historical points of interest to its hiking trails and fishing spots, Middleburgh has something for everyone.

Schoharie County, home to Middleburgh, was once a flourishing center for hops growers, supplying Albany and many other producers with hops. The hops field at the corners of New York routes 30 and 145 was once considered to be the largest in the county.

Additionally, the area was known as the “Breadbasket of the Revolution” as the sightlines and fertile valley were key to the success of the Revolutionary forces stationed there.
